Biography

Patty Jackson has the voice of an angel with a unique guitar style creating rich chord progressions and stunning textures by using open tunings and multiple capos. Not to be content to be pigeon holed into one style of music, she blends folk, roots, blues, country, americana and a touch of jazz into her repertoire.  Recently, she has added ukulele and baritone guitar into her shows.

Growing up in central NY, Patty has played in a variety of bands cutting her teeth on Rock & Roll cover bands and eventually writing her own songs and forming a folk/classical trio called Wildfire. They toured  NY and New England for several years and recorded a self titled CD.

When Patty moved to the Front Range in 2004, she found her musical community by joining Resonance, the Women's Chorus of Boulder.  In Resonance, she met Angie Holley and Bylo Farmer and they co-founded the band, "Somethin' About Lulu". Their tag line was "Harmony and Hilarity" and they were a local favorite group for ten years. They also recorded a CD of original and cover songs.

Currently, Patty is "musically dating" playing mostly solo shows but also partnering with a variety of front range musical friends to play some shows and to co-write an occasional song. She enjoys playing coffeehouse, concert halls and especially doing house concerts. Friends call her the human jukebox. Put a lyric sheet in front of her and off she goes, and loves to lead community singing events.

To feed her addiction to housing, food and guitars, Patty works with seniors at an Assisted Living facility as an Activity Director. She gets to incorporate a lot of music with her seniors. "There is nothing like making a connection with people with severe memory loss and helping them to bring some of their memories back through the music that they grew up with. What a joy!"
